Vessel Prject

  • I planned to make a series of skull candle votives
  1. It related to the vessel theme because it holds a candle
  2. I think I did a p darn good job at sculpting those cheekbones
  3. I would make the jaw a little smaller
  4. I really like skulls and I needed something to hold my candles

Scraffito Tray

  1. I'm really happy with the design of the bras but I would definitely like to make a bigger tray with more detail
  2. This is very hard

Relief Post: Part 2

I think I was successful in the painting of the piece and the detail of the flowers; I would definitely sculpt the body differently. I planned to have more stuff on the frame but decided to do without it. I think the mini tile helped with trying to scholar the face better as well as the flowers. I had to deal with many cracks and having paint flung on it.

Relief Post: part one

Above pictures were my peices of inspiration for my project. Recently i have taken a liking to the styles of the 1700/1800s which inspired me to do a relief based on a Victoria Era portrait which is seen in the sketch below. This relief will be made with clay and will be sculpted like a frame, with the girl rising for the frame. I will also be puting melted glass between the frame and the girl to give it a more regal touch.

Victoria Wagner (Inspired Artist)

Californian artist Victoria Wagner slices and paints large pieces of reclaimed wood to resemble gemtsones or geodes. Victoria has mostly worked with these wood blocks, clay, and paint. She has gotten and MFA from Mills College in Oakland, CA and a BA at Humboldt State University in Arcant, CA.

The pop of color on the very neutral/bland wood peices if what really drew me in to her work.
